ALBUM REVIEW: American Beauty/American Psycho

Image result for american beauty american psycho album coverI have been shitting on this album for too long

I was wrong about my prior thoughts about AB/AP. I have believed for a while that AB/AP might be the weakest Fall Out Boy album there is. Now, after listening to this album again, I was wrong (it's probably Take This To Your Grave). AB/AP has absolute slappers throughout. I'll say the start and end aren't great, but who needs buns when you get the motherfucking filling in the Fall Out Boy sandwich. "Centuries", "Uma Thurman", "Novocaine", "Immortals". Just banger after banger after banger. I'm downgrading this slightly due to my general disdain for "Irresistible" and the fact the "Twin Skeleton's (Hotel In NYC)" is not an ending song, but it's a definite listen.

ALBUM REVIEW: Believers Never Die by Fall Out Boy

Image result for believers never die album coverBeliever Never Die is Fall Out Boy's greatest hits album before they went on hiatus. Of course, a lot of people had believed that perhaps this was the end, and Believers Never Die was a good sign of this. Starting with the hits from "Take This To Your Grave", which I'm not much of a fan of as they can go a bit harder than I'd like, going into "From Under The Cork Tree", which is a great album in itself and the singles are legendary, to "Infinity On High", which has some great songs too, to "Folie A Deux", which isn't the strongest of the lot but has some strong singles. Finally, there's also Alpha Dog, that I don't know where it originates but it's great, and three bonus tracks. One is great and the others are okay. All in all, it's a formidable greatest hits album and a great representation of what Fall Out Boy was before their hiatus.

ALBUM REVIEW: Lake Effect Kid EP by Fall Out Boy

Image result for lake effect kid album coverThis EP came out basically by surprise and boasted 3 tracks, with one getting a music video as well. I’ve only actually listened to this and pushed it to the top of the list because Angel had me listen to it when I came round hers. Anyway, it’s a pretty good EP. The first song is trademark classic Fall Out Boy, with great guitars, that pop-punk feel and just a great nostalgia. The second track hits you with a bit of mid-Fall Out Boy with a more slower but still good song. Finally, it hits you with a more modern song with EDM involved and it’s also pretty good. Due to it being only 3 songs, I can’t give it a perfect score, but it does very well.

ALBUM REVIEW: Save Rock And Roll by Fall Out Boy

Image result for save rock and roll album coverThis album was the first album that Fall Out Boy released on return from their hiatus. It came with a full music video series, which I didn't watch for this review for fairness. The album is amazing every time I listen to it. The music sounds a lot more dynamic and deep than other music I've heard, and a lot of the lyrics are memorable as well. Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it's because they're one of my favourite bands, but this album gets high praise.

ALBUM REVIEW: MANIA by Fall Out Boy

I have listened to this album many times before, however listening to it again, it is a good album. Songs like The Last Of The Real Ones, HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T and Champion are upbeat and give a positive and active mood to the album while songs like Church, Heaven's Gate and Bishops Knife Trick slow the pace down and make sure that the album doesn't feel like one same thing. Although there are some songs I would skip if I was allowed to, a la Young and Menace, it's a pretty great album and better than Fall Out Boy's previous album, American Beauty/American Psycho
